Pamplona

The Camino goes right through Pamplona so even through Jerry missed the running with the bulls, we walked the streets where they run and took a couple short detours to see a bit of the sights and even a Hemingway haunt (or 2). They are hard to miss.  I recently read “The Paris Wife” which tells of Hemingway’s first marriage and the enormous amount of time that they spent in Pamplona.  This is where he became enthralled w/bullfighting and also wrote “The Sun also Rises.”  The alburgue, pilgrim's hostel, (6 euros @) was operated by two German gentlemen who were fantastic hosts.  Juice when we arrived and coffee when we looked like we needed a pick-me-up. They were responsible for all the calls to the airlines while we were gone so we could have our bag when we got back. More people to thank!  Pamplona is a beautiful city!
