For many long days, we have been hiking through the “meseta”. Literally this is a high
plateau surrounded entirely by mtn. ranges. In reality, it is a flat (hey, no
complaints there) dry area of farmland that seems to go on forever. I cannot help but remember my Grandmother who
walked beside a covered wagon from St. Joseph, Missouri to Red Lodge, Montana. I always admired that she would even undertake
such a trip and here I am doing it for fun! Wonder how our grandchildren will spin our story. We took this time to trek as fast as possible to get out of this terrain and into something more interesting.
