Cathedral in Burgos

There is absolutely no way that any photo I would take could do justice to this magnificent Cathedral. I will attach my feeble attempts only to encourage you to google it to find some wonder professional photos.  There is one altar in the chapel that is still used for daily worship that is so brilliant with gold and gold leaf that it fills the room with reflection.  However, we cannot look at it without thinking of the human sacrifices that were made to bring that gold from the New World, including our beloved Mexico.

  1. Can you see where they took the 200 year break in construction?

  2. Not obvious. They have quite an elaborate display of drawings showing the work that has been done over the years. But then again, we were pretty overwhelmed with the entire structure so probably missed a lot.
