We arrived in Leon and decided on the highly recommended Santa Maria de Carbajal Convento a Benedictine monastery in the old part of the city. I know, two conventos, but this one had a twist. It seems that they separate the men and women into separate dorms. Should have seen Jerry and I trying to divide up the things that we normally share. What a vibrate city. For Dr. E, we walked on the Avenue de Argentina. Leon was a Roman military garrison for the VIIth Legion, hence the name and the Roman walls are still standing in areas. The Leon Cathedral was of course another spectacular structure in contrast to Gaudi's neo-Gothic palace. A very pleasant stop just not enough time to see it all...sounds like it requires a return visit. We found the weary pilgrim on our way out of Leon the next morning.
