Today, we spent more
time putting on and taking off our rain gear than we spent on the
trail.A bit of an exaggeration but it
seemed like that. It would sprinkle just enough to make us think we needed to be covered and then it would stop, only to do it again a few minutes later. But we made it to
Melide for their famous octopus (pulpo). The only problem is that Jerry wasn't warned that it came sprinkled with
cayenne pepper and he nearly went into cardiac arrest with the “heat”.He came up with a solution to take most of it
off and finally settled in to enjoy it.
Jerry and Mary Lou, what an adventure you are having. Your blog is lots of fun to read. Charlie and I will be in Santiago on October 21st (leaving for Portugal this week with a detour to Galicia). We're driving, not walking to Santiago, but will "hike" up the cathedral steps at least. Will you be in Spain or back home? Barbara
