Back on the Camino Again

Characters along the way
Café in the morning
All rested and out b/4 dawn.  After only 30 minutes we found a wonderful café and postre shop so of course we stopped.  It was a long hike through the town but interesting how many locals were using the trail.  The cyclists have really taken over the Camino and of course with touring bikes they wouldn't be caught dead with a bell and they definitely are not going yell.  They are so quiet that it is almost always us who have to jump out of their way.  Counted 40+ today and that is below normal.  I really do understand the logic of building these villages on the highest ground but why so steep.  Hasn't anyone ever heard of switch-backs? The villagers all have to be in great shape to maneuver these streets everyday.  But hey, I showed them. Today, I flew right by a 90 year old villager with his two canes to beat him to the café.  The gentlemen were on the trail giving away figs and stamping our Credenciales.  One was a doctor telling about the healthy value of figs.  We assumed his real purpose might have been that after you ate them, he would expect you to visit his clinic just down the trail...but then we are skeptics.
